This is my second attempt at an Uber-Frugal Month: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7, Day 8, Day 9, Day 10, Day 11, Day 12
Day 13:
I refuse to waste my money on the notion that there’s something wrong with how I naturally look.
Oh boy, am I winning with this one! I stopped washing my hair with shampoo over a year ago, and it’s never looked so good (and so much less maintenance). And recently I stopped washing my face with soap, except when I have put sunscreen on. A friend commented that I looked like I was glowing, and I am getting many fewer pimples. (It also helps that no PhD means less stress).
I’ve been trying to introduce more Marie Kondo minimalism into my life – and that means keeping pieces of clothing only if I will actually wear them, and if they bring me joy. I have so many less clothes, and it’s nice. My standard ‘uniform’ is a T-shirt and jeans if I’m not working, and a collared shirt and nice jeans/pants if I’m working. I wanted to make more of an effort to wear my disused skirts this summer, but it’s been hot/cold/strange.
